Court Appeal & sprinkes of color
A Hillside house is both a pleasure and a challenge for a homeowner. In this case, the house has a victim of the 2017 Napa Fires and is being rebuilt in compliance with firewise landscaping and construction standards that are new in the industry. The large courtyard in front of the house has the dual purpose of retarding flamable plants and features, as well as increasing the ‘curb appeal’ of the house that felt kind of sunken in the hillside. Barrier hedges, and decomposed gravel pathways surrounding the house are strategically placed to interrupt and retard the low flames that would create an “escalator” to the house. And to top it off with sprinkles of colors are the large variety of flowering plants requested by that a client who is resilient and eager to celebrate life.
